Meet the Chart Pack

Telling the story of the biopharmaceutical sector is a daunting task, one that we strive to accomplish daily at PhRMA.

One new resource that we're finding especially helpful in this effort is PhRMA's new Chart Pack, which visually conveys the value of the biopharmaceutical research sector, whether that value is demonstrated by saving lives, saving jobs, or saving long-term healthcare dollars.

In fact, it's so helpful, I'm sure you'll be seeing it a lot more as you read The Catalyst where we will surely refer back to the Chart Pack often.

For example, let's go back to that value proposition. Saving lives? Page 7 shows the decline in death rates from cancer from 1975 to 2006, due in no small part to medical advances. Saving jobs? Page 76 shows that the biopharmaceutical sector is one of only a few in the U.S. expected to grow manufacturing jobs over the next decade. And how about saving dollars? Page 56 shows how better adherence to medicines actually reduces total healthcare costs for patients with congestive heart failure.
