Today, I had the chance take part in a Google+ Hangout organized by TEDMED. A part of TEDMED’s Great Challenges series, the Hangout, titled, “A Delicate Balance: How Can We Rightsize Treatment Costs,?” was a lively discussion among stakeholders from across the health care ecosystem, including:
- Vineet Arora, Director of Education Initiatives, Costs of Care, Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency and Assistant Dean of Scholarship & Discovery, University of Chicago
- James Chambers, Assistant Professor of Medicine, the Tufts Medical Center Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies
- Greg Gierer, Vice President of Policy, America’s Health Insurance Plans
- Josh Fangmeier, Policy Analyst at Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation (CHRT), University of Michigan
The constructive dialogue was moderated by The New York Times’ Elisabeth Rosenthal and was a chance for a diverse group to convene and focus on not only our great challenges, but also on our creative solutions.
I invite you to watch the hangout and join the conversation.
